It's a Boy!

Steven Donald Knutson was born on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 8:30 P.M.  He was 5 lbs. 13 oz. and was 18 in long.  We are beyond in love with our Easter Blessing.

On Thursday night, I was starting to have some mild cramping, nothing too painful, so I decided to go to bed.  As I was getting into bed, I felt some water and I told Troy that I thought my water had broken.  We went to the hospital and they confirmed that my water broke. 

Since I was not having heavy contractions, they gave me medicine to begin the labor process and told us to get some rest.  Needless to say, getting rest was not so easy because we were super excited!

At 5:30 A.M., I still was not contracting on my own, so they gave me pitocin to get the contractions started--and boy did they ever!  By 7:30, I was ready for the epidural.  My contractions were 3 minutes a part and very strong...let me just say I have so much respect for women that labor without drugs!

By 5:00 P.M., I was ready to start pushing, but because of the epidural, I was having a difficult time and so they reduced the medicine so I could feel what I was doing.  I pretty much felt it all!

I pushed for 2 1/2 hours and finally delivered our baby boy!  He was perfect in every way and we instantly fell in love.
